Banned Book Club

1st Wednesday of the Month
DeForest Area Public Library
12:00 p.m. or 6:30 p.m.

Celebrate your freedom to read by joining us for thoughtful discussions about challenged and banned books in a safe and compassionate environment.

We will explore a variety of books that have been cited by the American Library Association (ALA) as being frequently challenged. Though some of the books may have been written for younger readers, the Banned Book Club is intended for adults.

Copies of the books to be discussed will be available for checkout at the library. The Banned Book Club has two meeting times to accommodate schedules: 12:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on the 1st Wednesday of every month. Both discussions will feature the same book each month.

If you’d like to participate via Zoom, please contact Samantha, Adult Services Librarian, at sbarsanti [at] deforestlibrary.org (sbarsanti[at]deforestlibrary[dot]org) or 608-846-5482 at least one hour prior to the meeting.
