This program will highlight aspects of Wisconsin’s history and current cheesemaking/culinary culture. The program will discuss the background of the various immigrant groups who settled in Wisconsin in the 1800’s (many of whom brought cheesemaking traditions from their home countries to Wisconsin) and how these various cultural influences impact the dairy-based culture of the state today. Attendees will also get to taste cheese and learn a little bit more about the art of cheesemaking and tasting.
