Join us for a presentation to kick off a historical exhibit that will travel through Dane County public libraries over the next year!

A wildly unique opportunity to learn about animals in a fun and exciting way! We truly believe it is important not only to inform and educate people about animals and the world around us, but it also helps teach empathy and respect. We feel that if one can learn to love, care and respect animals, it is the first step in learning to love, care and respect the people with whom we share our earth.

In 2018 Micaela Sullivan-Fowler installed an exhibition called "Staggering Losses: WW1 and the Influenza Pandemic of 1918." Little did she know that the exhibition would be shuttered by another Pandemic, the one we are experiencing in 2020. She will give a short background on the exhibition itself, how the "Spanish Flu" affected our local populations and how the exhibition resonated for those who visited. Micaela will also touch on the similarities and differences between the two Pandemics.

Alexander Hamilton was one of the leading Americans who recognized the need for a strong centralized government and understood the structures that were needed to support the new Republic and allow it to grow and flourish. Hamilton's vision, probably more than that of any other Founder, is reflected in the modern America in which we now live.

Madison Public Library joins local partners in celebrating the diversity of Madison with a series of programs and displays highlighting the experiences of students from Madison and Milwaukee, featured in the forthcoming book Green Card Voices: Immigration Stories from Madison and Milwaukee High Schools. 

This book and traveling exhibit features 13 first-person narratives from students at James Madison Memorial High School, all of whom arrived in the United States as immigrants or refugees.

Join us as we investigate our corner of space and beyond with MPM On the Move (Milwaukee Public Museum’s outreach program)! Learn how our understanding of the universe has changed through the years. Participants will get a chance to model the movement of celestial bodies and build their own scale model of the solar system.

For astronomy lovers ages 8 through adult!
